I found this beautiful butterfly in my little garden. First, I found its caterpillar in java fig or weeping fig (Ficus benjamina). Here are the picture.
And two days later, these caterpillars became pupae. This white one was early pupae, and the next day, it became real pupae.
Finally, one week later...........
Frankly, I am not really sure that it is E. mulciber, because there is no striped blue in the wings. I hope this really E. mulciber. The reference said that, the hindwing of female butterfly is striped with narrow white streaks. The male has bright blue-shot forewings above and a reddish brown hindwing. The undersides are drably coloured with white submarginal spots.
These are the empty pupae.
I was curious, what was its egg like? Some days later, I went outside to have a look at the tree, and I found this egg. Yeah, I am sure that it was the egg of E. mulciber.
